Bitter Things formed in May 2008, when ex-members of London-based indie rock band the Furies began working on a new project with bass player/vocalist Lizzy Ford.

The first gig they played together was at the Luminaire in September 2008, where they were spotted by producer Simon Hayes, and subsequently began recording tracks with him at the renowned Mayfair Studios in Primrose Hill, North London.
