Lana brings her ray of sunshine to the people. Making Jazz sexy again, Lana manages to fuse some of her influences with a great Pop sound.
The single features the lead track ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ bringing out Lana’s Latin vibrancy. Having half her heart resting in Latin territory, she sings a beautiful version of it in Spanish. Her sultry tones then turn her attention to ‘Liar Liar’ with a big accapella moment that shows her raw vocal talent. Track 4 is a remix by Dean James and a real groove treat having mixed acts as diverse as Nitin Sawhney through to Sugarbabes, he has made it just right for a ripe dancefloor.
Lana’s 90 year old Gran taught her to sing and wow can she sing! This beautiful angel has a celestial voice, velvet coated with the warmth of a deep blue summer sky. For years she sung to herself and composed for herself, her gran and immediate family the only people to hear her blossoming talent. Her tender years meant she was too shy to let herself loose on the world, then one day a seminal moment arrived. Strumming a guitar on a summer evening, an open window finally let the outside world hear her voice for the first time, within minutes neighbours were alerterted and Lana had played her fist gig to around twenty people consisting of family and neighbours in the garden below!
She decided enough was enough, it's time to battle the trembles and sing to the world, Let loose on London, she has never looked back, joining drum n bass outfit Virtigo, backing up jazz diva Fiona Renshaw and still managing to tour with the Bluefoot Project and jazz/hip hop collective Thelonious. Not only that Lana dips in and out of various other projects, making a quick stop at Glastonbury, Ronnie Scott's and the Jazz Café when duty calls.
With a mental archive stocked full of years worth of Tom Waits, Aretha Franklin, Ike and Tina, Janis Joplin, Ella, Nina, Sarah Vaughn, a bit of Neil Young, Beatles, Elvis and rock n roll Lana keeps on writing inspired by the tunes of days gone by. Now it's 2008. 'Lana ain't shy no more and she got a whole lot to share.
You can catch Lana performing her songs solo and with band offering original music that supplies smiles and toe taps to the jazz standard, easy listening ballad crew as well as the dance crazy swingers and rock n rollers too! 'Lana's on a fast paced locomotive, chugging away and enjoying the ride. She's preparing to jump off at a few major gigs and some nice ditty ones too.
Stripping away the media nonsense ‘Don’t Call Me Baby’ sees Lana take on the current crop of media whores armed only with a voice and raw talent.
Isn’t that the only stimulant you should need?
Lana is From the planet sunshine come to inject joy, love and laughter into our world.

"Put this in your CD player immediately because her voice will turn your pants to ash" (Charles Kennedy - Invisible Hands Music)
"Oozing refinement from every pore, 'Lana and her band created an atmosphere that instantly warmed up the crowd. 'Lana's sexy, sassy vocal style was a surefire winner over the refined jazz/Rock 'n'Roll/country (I hate genre pigeonholes!) stylings of her band and the crowd, obviously responding to the vibe, did the only thing they could do, danced. Highly recommended." (Hugh James -Freelance Jounalist)
